RULES AND REGULATIONS

Any musician, regardless of sex or nationality, can take part in the competition. The purpose of the
competition is to encourage and improve the performance of young musicians, to promote them
and give them an opportunity to exchange experiences among themselves.
The competition will take place from 8th to 10th April 2011 on the premises of Krško Musical School.
All competitors will be provided with a room for warming up and practising with an accompanist.

The competitors will be grouped into seven categories:

OBOE and BASSOON

Category I - age up to 13 (born in 1998 or later)
Category II - age up to 16 (born in 1995 or later)
Category III - age up to 19 (born in 1992 or later)
Category IV - age up to 24 (born in 1987 or later)

CHAMBER GROUPS

Categories are only per member age not per group structure membership.
Different chamber groups, therefore, shall compete in the same category.

The following group structures are possible:
Trio: Oboe, Bassoon + 1 (any instrument), 2 Oboes + English horn
Bassoon Quartet
Wind Quintet: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn

Category A - Age of individual members – up to 15
Category B - Age of individual members – up to 20
Category C - Age of individual members – up to 30

The competition will be public. The compositions may be played with the use of sheet music;
however, this must be printed. No photocopies are allowed.
There will be an official accompanist available for all competitors. If a musician will need one, this should be
marked on the entry form and not less than 20 days prior to the beginning of the competition,
the piano parts of the pieces must be sent to the organiser (except for the compulsory compositions).
The organizer will display the timetable of sessions for practising before the competition.

ENTRY FEE

Categories I – III: € 60.00
Category IV: € 70.00
Chamber groups: € 35.00 per person

Entry to the competition will not be valid unless the above fee is paid. In the event of cancellation
not later than by 25th March 2011,the organiser will return the fee paid; however € 20.00 will be kept as
compensation of administrative costs.

THE EXPERT COMMISSION

will score all candidates with points from 1 to 100. The result of an individual competitor will be the average
of the points of the members of the commission. The results will be announced at the end of the competition
for each category. The commission will select the competitors from Category IV to take part in a
second stage.A decision by the commission will be final and indisputable.After the completion of the
competition,the commission will be available to competitors for discussion.The prizes will be awarded in
accordance with the number of points achieved. All competitors will receive recognition of participation.
